Working with the Public on Animal Care
Livestock producers will have the opportunity to listen to one of the most recognized animal scientist in the world on June 9th in Cygnet, Ohio. Dr. Temple Grandin of Colorado State University will share her views on how livestock producers should be working with the non-farm public on animal care education. Dr. Grandin is a world renowned animal scientist that overcame her autism to become an expert in animal handling. Dr. Grandin has helped design slaughter and animal handling facilities across the globe for the past 30 years. Recently the movie Temple Grandin was released depicting Dr. Grandin's life story.
Working with the public and animal care program will be held at the Nichols farm in Cygnet, Ohio on June 9th at 6:00 pm. The event is sponsored by the Wood County Beef Producers, Farm Bureau, Great Lakes Family Farms, Ohio Cattlemen's Association, Ohio State University Extension and Bowling Green State University. Included with the program will be an evening meal and a tour of the Nichols Farm cattle handling facilities with Dr.Grandin.
